Originally in early March 1991, as DJ, Doc used the name 'Rounder' as his last name. Eventually, when teaching dance as well, he started using his actual last name of Haggerty replacing the name 'Rounder'.
Doc joined a National Group for Country Western Instructors called The National Teachers Association. Back in early 1992, the first year for Doc, members were initially sponsored by an existing full member and then enrolled as an Associate Member. |

A caricature of Doc. For his experience click here. |
This caricature of Doc Haggerty was drawn at The Great American Café in Glastonbury, CT in 1993. Doc was teaching Country Western Dancing at a business party.
In addition to all the teaching Doc did, he ran a fund raising event represented by the flyer on the right. That was held during Thanksgiving week 1993. The local Country Western Talent turned out in full force and the event went well for all involved. |

In April of 1997 'Doc' Taught dance classes at a Christopher's Ballroom Dance Club/Studio located in West Palm Beach, FL.
In January, 1997 Doc attended a Country Western Competition Final where he first saw Jo Thompson in person. She was the visiting MC for the Competition. That weekend, Jo was filming her seventh Dancelink™ Video in South Florida and those at the event were invited to attend. Doc was happy to participate where he was fortunate to not only meet Jo Thompson but Jo actually featured Doc in a Two Stepper/Line Dancer Lesson on that video. |
Thank You from Jo Thompson and the Dancelink™ Team

In the Spring of 1997 while in Florida, Doc performed in a community theatre production of the musical Oklahoma! In it, Doc played the character of Marshal Cord Elam. He also sang in the chorus and danced and choreographed his solo and a couples dance routine as well.
Check out this one. Here Doc is at Cowboys on the 'practice' dance
floor, 8/03. Imagine a practice floor as large as many main dance
floors in other places. In addition to teaching on Sunday eves (5PM Family Night) at Cowboy's, Doc did some private lessons here as customers requested them. It's a great place to get started. Just ask anytime you find 'Doc' hangin' out as that continues today. |

This is an exciting award for Doc in his dancing experience and he
still has trouble realizing it is true at such a late date.
He had a fantastic time at The 2003 Southern National Dance Competition in Biloxi, MS in October. Event director Sue Boyd is really a very special Lady indeed and all that participated made him feel right at home in a place far from his beginnings.
Well, everything has come full circle now. In addition to private lessons, 'Doc' is now doing special events and parties complete with dance lesson and Karaoke as well. Simply contact 'Doc' to make your party an event to remember for years to come. |
